The principle of sanding is to evenly scratch the surface of the fabric to form a short layer of fluff on the surface of the fabric, thereby improving the feel and wearing performance of the fabric.
(1) With the same amount of dye, brushed fabrics are darker in color than non-sanded fabrics; however, the dry and wet rubbing fastness and strength will be reduced.
(2) Many factories will add some additives such as softeners when the suede fabric is fluffed. After sueding, the hairiness on the suede surface of the fabric will be removed by washing. If the washing is not clean or uneven, it will cause dyeing. It is debatable whether softening agent should be added during the sanding process and whether it needs to be washed. According to personal experience, it is better to add no or less other additives to the sanding working fluid.
(3) During the dyeing and finishing process of sanded products, if the left, middle and right hair effects of the semi-finished product are inconsistent, the left, middle and right color difference will occur in the fabric during the dyeing process.
(4) The feel and strength of brushed fabrics must be considered comprehensively. Improving the feel of the fabric under normal process conditions is often achieved at the expense of the strength of the fabric.
