The mercerizing machine is a device for treating cotton yarn and cotton fabrics with concentrated caustic soda solution under certain tension conditions and washing with water to remove alkali. In knitting production, it is mainly used to process weft-knitted cylindrical cotton knitted gray fabrics. The mercerizing machine mainly consists of a cloth feeding frame, an alkali dipping tank, a ventilation device, an expansion device, a washing device and a flat washing tank.
Mercerizing machines can be divided into the following types according to the different expansion devices that apply tension to the cotton knitted gray fabric after padding with alkali solution: (1) Spring expander expands, and the friction roller prevents the fabric from transverse direction Shrink; (2 ) The cylindrical expander exerts tension on the cylindrical fabric in the radial direction; (3) Blows in compressed air to form an air drum on the cylindrical fabric; (4) The diameter-adjustable cylindrical expander and the combination of inflatable pressure on the cylinder The fabric is tensioned radially and sprayed with light alkali solution. The first mercerizing machine type performs flat width expansion on cylindrical fabrics, and the 2nd to 4th mercerizing machine types perform cylindrical radial expansion. The third type of mercerizing machine and the fourth type of mercerizing machine not only have the effect of expanding the width of the fabric, but also have the effect of reducing the arc dimension and eliminating the wrinkles and edge creases produced during processing of the cylindrical knitted fabric.
