Recently, the International Organization for Standardization (iso) officially released the “Antiviral Textile Testing Standard” (iso18184:2014), which stipulates the testing methods for the antiviral performance of textiles (including woven and knitted fabrics, fibers, yarns, etc.). The release of this standard marks new progress in the research and development of international functional textile testing technology and evaluation systems, and functional textiles have entered a new era of anti-virus.
Functional textiles are different from general textiles and mainly include comfortable functional textiles, hygienic and health-care functional textiles, protective functional textiles, etc. Among them, hygienic and health-care functional textiles are subdivided into antibacterial, far-infrared radiation, negative ion and other functions, and anti-viral function is a new development trends.
my country is a major exporter of textiles, but the textiles exported have low technical content and low added value, especially the export proportion of functional textiles is low. The continuous improvement of the international functional textile standard system has provided technical guidance for export enterprises in product research and development and design, and has also formed a technical barrier to related export products. To this end, we call on textile R&D units and manufacturing enterprises to promptly grasp the development trends of international textiles, devote themselves to the research and development of high value-added functional textiles, and guide product design and production in strict accordance with new requirements, so as to pave the way for my country’s export textiles to successfully occupy the international high-end market.
