Silicon-coated nylon is generally used in high-end tents. It has stronger water repellency, elasticity, and UV resistance, and this material is also lighter. Because the material is good, the price is also Relatively higher.
The process of silicone-coated nylon tents is generally very complicated. It takes longer to bond the silicone coating to the nylon, and it is difficult to stick things to silicone-coated nylon. That is to say, the seams of silicone-coated nylon cannot be stuck with tape, and special sealants must be used. Therefore, most high-end tents currently on the market use silicone-coated nylon on one side, and the inside is generally PU coating.
2. Polyester fiber
Common tents are made of polyester fiber. They are very affordable for travel and look very good-looking, because the breathability is worse than that of nylon. If you choose polyester fiber, For ester fiber tents, you can consider double-layer tents.
