Have you watched the recently popular workplace drama “Youth”? The high-ranking sisters in the workplace, played by Liu Mintao, Yin Tao, and Zuo Xiaoqing, are really beautiful and sassy. The masters’ moves may seem calm, but in fact there are turbulent undercurrents.
In addition to the exciting plot, the sisters’ advanced and capable attire also attracted much attention.
Except for several protagonists , the outfits of the supporting girls are also very eye-catching~
The fabric I want to show you today has a silky luster and is dry. , soft touch, occupy a place in high-end fashion ready-to-wear, especially in the design of women’s professional wear and evening wear, and are uniquely favored. It is known as washable “silk” – triacetate fiber.
1. What is triacetate fiber?
First we need to understand acetate fiber.
Cellulose acetate in English, CA for short, is a type of man-made fiber. Chemical fibers are made from cellulose as raw material and converted into cellulose acetate through chemical synthesis.
Acetate fiber is divided into diacetate fiber and triacetate fiber. The biggest difference between the two is that the amorphous area in the supramolecular structure of diacetate fiber is larger, while triacetate fiber has a certain crystalline structure, and the symmetry, regularity, and crystallinity of the fiber macromolecules are higher than those of diacetate fiber. . Therefore, the gloss, drape and other properties of triacetate fabrics are better than those of diacetate fabrics.

2. Characteristics of triacetate fiber
1. Alkaline resistance
Weak alkaline alkaline agents basically do not cause damage to acetate fiber, and the fiber weight loss rate is very small.
2. Resistance to organic solvents
Cellulose acetate is insoluble in ethanol and tetrachlorethylene. Based on these characteristics, tetrachlorethylene can be used for dry cleaning of acetate fabrics.
3. Acid resistance
Common sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid affect the strength, gloss, and elongation of fibers within a certain concentration range. It will not affect anything; but it can be dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated hydrochloric acid, and concentrated nitric acid.
4. Dyeability
The dyes commonly used for dyeing cellulose fibers have almost no affinity for acetate fiber and are difficult to dye. The most suitable dyes for acetate fibers are disperse dyes with low molecular weight and similar dye uptake rates.
In addition, the appearance and luster of triacetate fabric are similar to those of mulberry silk. It feels soft, smooth and elastic, and its drape feel is the same as that of mulberry silk.
It has the texture of mulberry silk but not the fragility of mulberry silk. It is easy to wash and dry, does not become moldy or moth-eaten, and has better elasticity than mulberry silk. It is unbreakable. Buttoned high-end fabric.
