According to reports, the Textile Laboratory Open Day is one of the 13 themed activities of this year’s Quality Supervision “Quality Month”. By holding the Textile Laboratory Open Day event, the quality supervision system allows entrepreneurs to enter the product testing site and learn about the solid technical strength and advanced inspection and testing equipment of the inspection and testing institutions.
As the main content of the Quality Supervision Textile Laboratory Open Day event, the testing process of textile color fastness has attracted special attention from entrepreneurs and the media.
“The color fastness test of textiles needs to be carried out in multiple steps, otherwise the results will be unreliable.” In the textile laboratory, Li Huiling, engineer of the Municipal Quality Inspection Institute, first led the visitors to the sampling machine and introduced the functions of the sampling machine. “It is impossible to test all of each textile. This requires the use of a sampling machine to intercept part of them and use them as samples for testing.”
Sampling is the first step, and the next step is to test the sample for color fastness to perspiration. The reporter saw at the perspiration color fastness testing station that beakers, scales and various acid and alkali chemical reagents were neatly placed, showing the “high-end atmosphere and class”. Li Huiling told reporters that perspiration color fastness testing is divided into two categories: acid resistance and alkali resistance. The sample needs to be soaked in an acidic or alkaline solution for a certain period of time, and then its changes are detected.
After that, Li Huiling led the visitors to visit the rubbing color fastness testing room, washing color fastness testing room and color fastness testing standard light source box.
As the weather gets colder, the quality of down clothing has attracted much attention from the public. At yesterday’s open day, Gao Jinhong, engineer of the Municipal Quality Inspection Institute, also introduced to visitors how to purchase down products. “When citizens buy down products, they can pat and press them. If they can recover quickly, it means that the down product has a higher fluffy degree and is relatively warm.” Gao Jinhong said that when buying down products, they should not only look at the filling. The amount of down depends on the down content. “The down content is often a better reflection of the quality of down jackets.”
