The moisture wicking performance of hygroscopic oxford fabric depends on its chemical composition and physical structure. The gaseous moisture that evaporates from the skin surface is first absorbed by the fibers, and then evaporates through the material surface; while the liquid moisture on the skin surface is absorbed and diffused on the surface between materials by the gaps inside the fibers, as well as the gaps between fibers and the capillary effect. and evaporation. The results of two effects lead to moisture transfer. The former effect is mainly related to the chemical composition of the fiber macromolecules, and the latter is related to the physical structure of the fiber.

1. Water absorption
The hygroscopic Oxford fabric has the characteristics of water absorption. It uses the numerous capillaries formed by the many microporous surface grooves on the surface of the fiber that communicate with the inside and outside, making it easy for moisture to enter between the fibers. At the same time, tubular grooves or capillaries along the fiber axis provide channels for water migration, so the fiber has good water absorption.

2. Drying property

The moisture between polyester fibers mainly relies on the attraction of a large number of microporous capillaries to be absorbed by the fibers, or in the capillaries between fibers, the moisture is easily transported to the fiber surface and volatilized under normal ambient temperature.
