Starting today I will explain the knitting method of this men’s sweater in several parts. Today, this article starts with the first part: starting the needle and knitting the collar part.
This sweater is knitted from top to bottom. Before starting to stitch, it is recommended that sisters knit a sample piece based on the thickness of the wool and the thickness of the needle as a basis for the number of stitches to start. Here are some tips on collar stitching for sisters (generally, the collar circumference of a men’s sweater with a normal collar is 1 foot 5 inches, and a collar measurement of 1 foot 3 inches for a women’s sweater is more appropriate). After calculating the number of stitches you want to start, knit the required number of stitches at once (including the number of stitches for the collar placket, no need to knit separately).
After counting the stitches, start knitting the washboard stitches at the single-thread placket. After knitting to the required height of the collar (choose according to preference), divide the number of needles into three equal parts (except the number of needles for the placket), one part for the front and the back, and the other part is divided equally between the two sleeves and divided into 4 ribs. At the end, add a marking buckle to mark it, and add stitches in alternate rows on both sides of the tendon. Start knitting and leave the buttonholes in place. After knitting to a suitable opening length, stitch the placket and the tab together, connect end to end and start knitting in circles. The upper part of the pattern is the reverse side of the fake ingot flower used as the front side.
